TVP Engage Privacy Statement

TVP Engage Privacy Statement

TVP Engage is a platform managed by Thames Valley Police (TVP) and the system is hosted and supported by the supplier, Rock Content.
The platform facilitates interactions between TVP staff and members of the public through written messages during scheduled “events.” These messages are either publicly displayed or in the form of private messages between a member of TVP staff and an individual member of the public.

Interactions with the TVP Engage platform helps TVP to understand local concerns and the impact of campaigns, and to identify crime types that are most affecting Thames Valley residents and organisations.

The personal data will be processed under UK General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) Article 6(e) for the performance of a task in the public interest. Where relevant, the data will also be processed under UK GDPR Article 9(g) for reasons of substantial public interest, meeting the statutory purposes condition under Part 2 of Schedule 1 of the Data Protection Act (DPA) 2018.

Rock Content processes TVP Data outside of the EU. TVP has implemented appropriate safeguards to protect the data, including implementation of Standard Contract Clauses (SCCs) and receiving reassurances regarding the processor’s technological and operational safeguards.

Under UK data protection legislation, data subjects have rights relating to the processing of their data. Find more information on how to exercise these rights and Thames Valley Police’s wider privacy policy.
